OVERHEAD CRANE INSPECTOR TRAINING

 

This training has been developed to address the applicable ASME Standards and OSHA Regulations. The program consisting of a comprehensive in-class training and testing session followed by a customized hands-on instruction and evaluation session. The program covers a broad spectrum of overhead crane operation and rigging, focusing on those particular to your operation. Participants will learn how to safely and effectively operate your specific overhead crane and related components. This program is suitable for operators, supervisors and all personnel involved in safety of overhead lifting equipment. The training is applicable to all capacities and types of overhead lifting devices.

  • Overhead Crane Terminology & Applicable Standards of the industry (ANSI/ASME standards)
  • Federal Regulations Applicable to Overhead Cranes (OSHA regulations)
  • OSHA & ANSI/ASME Compliant requirements and manufacturer compliance
  • Types of overhead cranes. Identification of various types of overhead cranes based on their features and characteristics (Bridge Cranes, Monorail Cranes, Jib Hoists)
  • Overhead crane components
  • Overhead Crane Inspection, When to perform an inspection
  • Operational Inspection Guidelines and Inspection Checklist
  • Operational requirements of the overhead crane, Rated Capacity, stopping with a load
  • Lockout/tagout
  • Inspection of safety devices and Mechanical Components, Bumper Stops, Crane Sequences, Warning Devices, Limit Switches, Brakes. Runways, Rails, Drums, Footwalks, Ladders, Hooks, Guarding, Motors, Insulators, Collectors.

The training is for 3 days.  2 days in class session and 1 day in a customized hands-on session on site at your location. The participants are required to successfully complete a written test, and they are evaluated on their practical knowledge, ensuring they fully understand the training they received. they must achieve a minimum of 85% on both sessions for successful completion.
